Before founding Rise Culture, I spent 20 years being what I thought of as a “high functioning” executive. Experiencing deep professional burnout in 2022 showed me how wrong I was. 

In school and then work, I had used my brain and my education to solve every problem. I was bewildered when my overworked brain stopped functioning. It took a shift out of my brain and into my body, and a deep dive into yoga and rest to recover. 

That discovery - the literal “re-membering” - of my body’s performance being foundational to my brain’s performance, is what I now bring into my work as a facilitator, coach, and designer. Reconnecting to our unique human strengths is essential, especially now, as we transition into partnership with AI,  to developing leaders and organizations that are truly high-performing. 

We already deeply know what both science and our common sense tell us: in order to be both good at and enjoy our work, we must stop pretending WE’RE machines. I created Rise Culture to help us imagine and build a future that we want: where we have space for creativity, innovation, and collaboration at work, and where we embrace our human strengths and patterns, and see them as essential and foundational to our work.
